What Does Daddy Do?

This amazing man is one of the most committed,
respectable, trustworthy, disciplined,
intelligent, talented, gifted
men I know!
What a blessing the Lord has given me
by letting me marry and live life with such a man!!

Just two weeks ago we celebrated 8 years of marriage.
I wouldn't trade a day!

So I thought I'd write up a lil' of what he's been up to.

In April he blew me away
by how well he re-entered the life of a student,
completing his CNA course with a 100% "grade"
and then getting hired immediately.
He works a few days a week,
from 3pm to 11pm,
while balancing all his other duties.
In fact- that's where he is as I write this!

In the midst of his busy-ness and responsibilities,
he finds time to intentionally father his children.
He spent an afternoon setting up a camping tent in the yard,
playing with Taylor in and around it,

...and even had a little tea party with her in the middle of the tent!

When he needs a rest
he will often put a baseball game on tv.
Taylor knows that it's Daddy's favorite thing to watch! =)
Go Orioles!
Grandpa even got a special TV package
that includes games from around the country
so Greg gets to watch his Orioles play =)

He also got to play on the church Men's League Softball Team.
We laughed when we realized how few weeks there are to a season...
as he used to play year 'round in California!

And... they won the championship!

When he had to study for his summer courses:
Anatomy & Phisiology Part 1 or College Algebra (online course)
he would leave the house.
This was such a wise choice!
It meant that when he was home
he was truly available to the kids and to me.
He made the effort to read, play, giggle, wrestle, tickle...
and truly be with his family.
I am so thankful!
We are also thankful to Great Grandpa Robbie and Grandma Peggy
because they allowed Greg to study in their basement
so that he had a quiet place to retreat
and completely focus on his studies
so he could return to us ready to hang out.

And I have such wonderful news to tell you!
He officially earned a solid A in both of those courses!
And now he's on "break" for three weeks!
We are SO enjoying him home during the day!!

So what does Daddy do?
He keeps us together like glue!

So Many Sports...

There are many sports in the Olympics.
It's kinda fun to watch some of them on the "other" NBC affiliate channels.
Skeet shooting, trampoline, speed walking, handball

Why not add a few more sports to the Summer Olympics?

Swimmed

Taylor awoke from her nap today
and before she even said "hi"
she said,
"I swimmed today."

And that she did!
We went to a friend's pool
and she wore the coolest waterwing/vest I've ever seen.
She felt so comfortable!
Yay for cool equipment!

So we've decided
she's going to join Team USA in yet another event!

What a talented lil' bunch we have here!

Stay tuned for another "Olympic" themed video
later this week =)

Olympic Gold

We've thoroughly enjoyed watching "The Games" on TV.
In fact, we've DVR'd several
just so we can go back and watch them
when we have the time!

I am especially fond of the gymnastics.
Preliminaries, Team, Individual, All Around...
Love it all!

Our kids thought they'd like to put their talent to use
on Team USA

Sorry for the recent blog silence.
Don't take it personally.
We're just busy... and naptime has been filled
with other chores....
and, of course,
the Olympics!

Daddy's little girl?

One of Taylor's new "isms" is,
When she sees Daddy go grab a hat to wear,
Guess what she does ....

BUT, Daddy is not just throwing a hat on her and calling it good....

(Daddy's First attempt at a REAL pony tail)

Taylor says I'm a work in progress....

Fun Times

We've spent some weekend time
making sure we are savoring our fam time
as the Hickles Three...
Knowing that it will all change
when we are the Hickles Four!

These are shots from Daddy's Church-League Softball Game!

And last night Mommy and Taylor
made a REALLY fun bathtime
by putting real bubble bath in
with Taylor's usual shampoo bubbles!
Here's a look at Mommy
(she was called Katy when she was lil')
and takin' bubble baths too!

And Mommy threw on a swim suit,
and joined Tay in the tub
for a little extra fun times together!

So happy together...

Taylor finally took a nap...
And awoke
with this FANTASTIC hairdo!

Pix are kinda outta order,
but still it's been wonderful
to reconnect with my Baby Girl this weekend!
