Robbie Rodeo 2017

In August we attended our favorite rodeo!
Here's a few snapshots
(and a video at the end)
of the good times that were had by all!

 Time for the stick-horse races!
Jacob's first time entering!!

Robbie did a great job this year,
completing his heat.

Cousin Scott,
my kids' FAVORITE REAL COWBOY!

Taylor did well in her stick-horse race as well!

These two did so well
working together in the three-legged-race

Lovin' Cousin Scott

This random girl
was just SO cute
I had to snap a photo

We were spectators for the rest of the time
until it was time for the sheep riding!

Jacob had his heart set on riding a sheet this year
and he got his helmet and pads all set
But then while trying to walk around
with limited vision because of the helmet
he fell and busted his lip
which dampened his mood for riding a sheep.
He sure looks cute in his helmet though!

Taylor, on the other hand,
was determined to get a long ride this year
after last year's half a second debacle.

She got all geared up

The expert cowboys helped get her settled,
and she was off!
(She requested that I film it in slow-mo,
so here ya go!)

(This is a video you may not be able to view on a phone/ipad,
or even through the email.

Thanks Cousin Scott for such a good time!
It's the highlight of my kids' year!

Yellowstone with the Buelos

Since I'm backdating a few posts
and putting some pictures from our Summer Trips
I decided I'd do one of our Yellowstone Adventure
that we did in June with my parents!

We drove through Cody, WY
and stopped at the Teepee where Buffalo Bill Cody
used to take his friends to go hunting

Our first stop in the National Park
was the Lake front where we worked on
learning to skip rocks on the water!

Jacob took a little snooze in the car...
but everybody else threw rocks like champs!

A heart rock!

The kids and I made this shirt for Dad
for his Father's Day gift!
"Stronger than Superman,
Braver than Captain America,
Wiser than Yoda,
Cooler than Double 0 Seven"

Next stop,
mud pots and paint pots,
hot pools and Dragon's Breath caves
(it smells sometimes- see Tay's face!)

There was some snow melting in the parking lot,
and Buela just had to capture it on camera!

We're grateful for this trusty car,
that can comfortably fit all 7 of us

We hiked along a path
to get the perfect view of the Lower Yellowstone Falls

We did pretty well with wildlife sightings:
Elk mamas and babies,
Many birds (including white pelicans), bison, and deer

One of my favorite things about the thermal pools
is the color contrast between
blue and orange!
Nature's beautiful display of complimentary colors.

We enjoyed Old Faithful--
although it was 20 minutes later than estimated "blow" time.
The place was very crowded by the time it blew.
I think we all enjoyed the other thermal pools
more than we did the geyser, lol!

We headed home after such a great two-day trip.

Thanks for comin' with us Buela and Buelo!
What a blast!
